The Open Door Gallery, located in the heart of Bucktown/Wicker Park, is Chicago’s most unique, beautiful, and diverse gallery. The Open Door Gallery is known for its sleek, contemporary design which is perfect for private events such as wedding receptions, fashion presentations, business functions, political events, cocktail receptions, product launches, charity and fundraising events, or wine tasting and cooking demonstrations. The Open Door Gallery offers the architectural charm that is noted around the world to be a one of a kind location to host your special event.
The Open Door Gallery has more than 2,500 square feet of open space, the walls are adorned with the finest art available in Chicago. The main gallery area can seat up to 125 people for dinner and can accommodate 250 for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The Gallery also has a fully equipped eat-in kitchen that can be utilized to service larger parties or host an intimate party of up to eight people. Catering services are available if needed.
Gallery rental rates are as follows:
Sunday - Thursday $500
Friday or Saturday $700
- Fees include a seven hour use of the gallery space.
- Any event extending beyond the seven hour window will be charged an overage fee of $250 per hour.
- The Open Door Gallery is not responsible for the set up or clean up for a private event. Please allow the necessary time for this.
- All events much conclude by midnight unless otherwise agreed.
- Security: The permitee is required to use security. One guard is required per 75 people. The security guard fee is $25 per hour, per guard.
- Deposit: the security deposit for any event is $500 refundable after site inspection. The security deposit will not be refunded if less than seven (7) days advance notice of event cancellation is given. With a four (4) day notice of event cancellation a $250 penalty fee will be applied.
- Insurance: The Open Door Gallery has a mandatory insurance policy. Insurance can be purchased directly from ODG or from your insurance provider, proof of insurance is required two days prior to the date of the event.
